The Koran (Islam)
Allah is the Islamic name for God. Muslims that He revealed His wishes for the creation to a man called Muhammad. These massages were later collected together as the Koran (also scrawledADJ Writing Qur‘an). Muslims give faith to that the words of the Koran are the exact words of Allah. It is said that it has not been altered since it first appeared in AD 632. The Koran is inscribed in Arabic, the dialect that Muhammad spoke, and it contains the main teachings of Islam.

The Torah (Judaism)
The Torah is Judaism‘s most sacred text. It includes the first five books of the Bible, also known as the Pentateuch. These include the laws that God revealed to Moses on Mount Sinai. The Jewish scriptures also include the books of the prophets, historical writings and the Talmud.The Talmud contains instructions for following a Jewish way of life and understanding Jewish laws.

The Vedas (Hinduism)

The quadrate books of the Vedas contain the earliest Hindu beliefs and they have also influenced Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. The Rig Veda is the oldest of the Vedas. It was composed about 1500 BC, it was not scribbled down until about 300 BC. The Vedas include rituals and hymns that give us a glimpse of life in ancient India. Another important Hindu text is the Bhagavad Gita, or Song of the Lord. This is one section of a very for good epic pastoral called the Mahabharata. The Bhagavad Gita is about 700 verses for good and sets out Hindu philosophy, explaining the consequence of selflessness, duty, devotion and meditation.


The Pali Canon (Buddhism)
The Pali Canon is a collection of sacred texts followed by the Theravada high school of Buddhism. The teachings of the Buddha were first passed on through the spoken word and were not in writing down until the 1st century BC. The Pali Canon is written in the Pali language, and is also known as the Tripitaka, meaning three baskets. The texts are divided into three sections, which were originally written on palm leaf scrolls and kept in three exceptional baskets. They include rules for Buddhist monks and nuns, tales of the Buddha‘s life and teachings, stories and philosophical arguments.

Guru Granth Sahib (Sikhism)
Sikhs give faith to that the Guru Granth Sahib is the supreme spiritual influence and head of the Sikh religion, rather than any quick person. The original version was compiled by Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh guru, in 1604. He colleted the compositions of previous gurus over a number of years. The text includes almost 6,000 hymns and poems composed at abnormal times and in anomalous languages, which makes it very troublesome to translate. It also includes Hindu and Muslim writing, reflecting the religious tolerance of the gurus.


The Bible
The Christian sacred libretto is called the Bible. It is productive of up of two parts – the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament descries the history of the Israelites and contains books of history, law, verse and wisdom. It was scribbled by anomalous people, most likely in the thick of 1100 and 200 BC. The New Testament describes the story of Jesus‘ life and his consequence for Christians, and also contains writings by some important object Christians. It was prima facie Latin scribbled among AD 50 and 150. Passages from the Bible are read at Christian church services, and Christians also see the Bible as a code to live by and guidance in following their faith
