You might not speculate that a city like Toronto, the very definition of rural sprawl, would have room anywhere neighboring it for a first rate golf course and country club such as Pheasant Run. However, Pheasant Run is a reality right in the Heartland; let’s take a bit of a look at it.

History

Pheasant Run is a golf course and country club with a solid history it. Located below the mark than a hour’s drive from Toronto’s downtown core, the Pheasant Run golf courses, at first blush, resemble the monotonous valleys of the interior of British Columbia than anything to be found in Ontario, let alone so bordering upon to the city. The gates to the course and club were opened to much fanfare in 1981, and since that time Pheasant Run has enjoyed increasing progress and popularity amid those who love to accompany the game.

The courses

Today, Pheasant Run encapsulates three anomalous courses, each with a unique appeal to individual golfers. The land was first developed for recreational purposes in the late 1970s, on land that had the feel of the Muskoka regions more than the typical surrounding plots. The Midlands course is truly one of the most challenging in Ontario both in terms of fitness and golf expertise. The Southern Uplands features terrain that is easier to traverse than the other two, the proficiency necessary to make par shots will still be an adequate challenge for most golfers. Finally, the Highlands course offers some of the best views of the surrounding areas that can be afforded, from a course that still has multiple convexityN Transfer change and provides a concentration on target golf.

Like most high end golf courses, Pheasant Run includes a fully developed and supplied country club, very helpful for corporate events and other social gatherings in their spacious, modern rooms. The exaltation of this course changes dramatically, with tree padded fairways and laborious par 5s that furnish challenges to even the most experienced golfers.
