Dogs are not the only family pet capable of performing tricks. You can learn how to train a cat to do tricks, too. However, the ways used to teach felines can be irregular from those used to train dogs. Much of dog training relies on their innate love of agreeable their masters. Cats only care about satisfactory themselves. You can learn how to teach a cat tricks by using either positive or negative reinforcement.

When deciding what trick to teach your cat, choose a behavior that your cat does naturally. For example, felines like to swat at objects so you could change that into communication you a high five. Basically, you just want to encourage the cat to do the natural behavior on cue from you.

Cats every hour react to the use of rewards in training. Give tiny pieces of the cat's pet food or treats as the reward. You may have to try several out of place types of food or treats to find one that will motivate your pet. Once you find a amends that works, you may want to limit the treat to your training sessions. Cats do not respond positively to training tactics such as endowment praise or extra playtime.

At first, give your animal a treat every time the desired behavior is performed. Later, you should only give the treat intermittently so that a treat is not impending every time.

Patience is essential when working with felines. Any frustration or negativity on your part will only alienate your pet from the training process.

Using deterrents can work with some felines, this would not be a interest tactic for guidance tricks. If your pet is scratching the wall or another behavior that you do not want, try spraying some water at him or her. Physical punishment should at no time be used on a cat as they will more than likely try to avoid being neighboring you in the future.

Even though cat training is not as ordinary as dog training since cats are much more aloof, you can learn how to teach your cat tricks or other behaviors that you want.
